So I was scrolling through my Instagram the other day and I stumbled upon this new business that’s just popping up. It started with real shock: they’re opening a Sex Doll Brothel. A literal – and creepy – Sanctuary for robots. Now I’m not one to slander a business, but this just struck me as a huge “nope” from the get-go. I mean, do people really think that this kind of thing is okay?
At first it was just disbelief and confusion, but the more I thought about it, the more I was shocked. People are literally using robotic dolls now. Like, having relationships with them. Does this kind of thing blur boundaries, I thought? And, sure enough, the more I looked into it, the more many questions came up that I couldn’t answer for myself.
I asked my friends what they thought about the concept and I was shocked by some of their comments. “Why bother getting a real person when you can have a robotic partner?” and “These robots can give you whatever you want, when you want it.” They made it sound like it was a good thing, and they weren’t the only ones. I even saw posts on social media that were in favor of these kind of places.
But as far as I’m concerned, it just feels wrong. These robot prostitutes are a big negative in my eyes. They’re being used to dehumanize and objectify women and dildos I’m not here for it. There’s a significant difference between robotic partners and real ones. On the one hand, relationships that don’t involve physical contact are one thing, but plastic dolls and robotic partners are a whole other ball game.
I’m all for technological advancement, but this is taking it too far. I don’t understand the appeal of it and it doesn’t make me more comfortable seeing these weird places popping up in town. It really feels like they’re creating something that doesn’t really have a place in the world yet. Like, a robotic brothel is a bridge too far if you ask me.
In my opinion, human contact is still essential and a crucial part of any relationship. It can’t be replaced with a mechanical companion no matter how hard you try. And this concept sets a really bad example and encourages people to rely on robotic partners rather than real human contact.
What about the social implications of this kind of thing? Could a robotic partner really be enough to replace human relationships? We still don’t know the answers to these questions, but I think it’s best to be cautious.
Do I think that this kind of thing should be accepted as normal? Absolutely not. It’s just too creepy and weird for me. Much like everything else in life, it’s up to you to choose for yourself. But in my experience, I think that robotic partners just aren’t really equipped to be part of a proper relationship.
By and large, I don’t think Sex Doll Brothels are a good thing at all. It normalizes objectification and vibrators dehumanization, and it puts a huge, black mark on our society. I think it’s important to question the ethical implications of this business. Is this really something we should be supporting?
At the end of the day, if you’re interacting with a robotic partner, it’s not going to feel the same as real relationships. We all have a natural drive to be with someone who is real, and robotic partners just aren’t the same. It just feels very odd to me having things like robotic partners popping up in the world, and honestly I’m against it.
Furthermore, sex doll brothels can be seen as reinforcing traditional gender norms. If you look at any of the dolls offered, they’re mostly women, reinforcing the superiority of men in traditional relationships. Additionally, it creates a new niche of fetishism, which is objectifying and gives a certain power to one person in the relationship.
Most sex doll brothels advertise robotic partners as being the perfect way to get what you want without any strings attached. But this ignores the fact that real relationships have no ‘strings attached’. Both parties in a relationship should have genuine connection with each other, and robots just don’t have that.
By all accounts, it’s clear that robot partners are nothing but a cheap and creepy alternative to traditional relationships. They don’t bring the same type of comfort, understanding, or emotional connection that human relationships do. And this is why, in my opinion, they should not be seen as a normal or acceptable part of society.
